Stay at the beautiful SoMos CaSa which has been purposefully created for families with children of ALL ages.
We will collect you from the airport on Saturday and welcome you to the CaSa
On Sunday we will prepare breakfast for all and the rest of the day is yours to explore or relax.
We will entertain the children during the week with culturally focused activities (and time to let loose!) while you enjoy the city, WFH (we have excellent wifi) or simply relax.
We will take the children on a walk through these beautiful districts - capturing photos as we go which the children will then use as inspiration to create their own art later in the day.
After breakfast we will take the children to Teotitlan del Valle where they will participate in a fabric dyeing workshop.
Maria will teach them the traditional ways that fabric is colored using natural ingredients and chemical reactions.
Children will then dye their own fabric and while they wait for it to set they will visit a candle making workshop too!
Lunch is provided offsite.
We begin the day by making pinatas and a packed lunch.
The children will then be taken to Park Huayapam where we will enjoy playing some games, give the children some free time and of course have a lovely picnic.
We will start the day off with a cooking class with Rosa where we will make Memelas & Salsas.
After we are done we will head to the Childrens museum where we will spend a couple of hours playing, crafting and learning.
A short walk away is Plaza de la Danza where we will stop for nieves before heading back to the CaSa.
After breakfast we will make packed lunches and head to the Balnearios of Etla where the kids will cool off and have a blast in the many pools for children of all ages. A perfect way to end the first week!
We will provide breakfast for those who stay over the weekend but the rest of the days are yours to do as you please.
Maybe you would like to go to Hierve el Agua or take a tour down the artisans trail? We will help you make it happen or plan something special for your family with one of our many experience providers here in Oaxaca.
We will take the children to the Centro Cultural San Pablo in the center of town. There we will browse the museum, go to the library and give the kids some free time to get out some energy in the beautiful courtyard.
After our activity we will return to the CaSa and create artwork inspired by the many things we have seen today.
We will take the children to the Jaguar Sanctuary where they will learn about the animals who have been rescued. This is no regular Zoo. We are only able to see animals who are unable to be reintroduced to the wild.
We will stop for some of Tlacalulas famous bread to have with hot chocolate upon our return
We will start the day off by talking about Muertos and creating some calavera masks.
For lunch we will go to Entre Llenos - a traditional restaurant with a small farm and playground attached.
We will finally take the children to Park Colosio for climbing, running and free play.
Abby will join us to teach the children all about Cacao. Learn about the history of chocolate whilst tasting it and turning it into your fave thing! Of course the kids will be making their own chocolates to enjoy with the adults (if they haven't eaten it all!)
After lunch we will take the children to go and paint their own Alebrijes. They will be taking these home as keepsakes.
After breakfast we will gather up a packed lunch and will take the children to the balnearios for a day of swimming, splashing and so much fun!
We will all gather and enjoy a Farewell BBQ on the Terraza - Oaxaca style!
