Mexico City has been my favorite city since the very first time I visited.
Usually I am one to prefer smaller towns with a tangible soul... I dislike the anonymity of Capital cities... however that all changed when I discovered CDMX!
Long pedestrianized, tree lined pathways, plenty of green space, amazing food, culture everywhere and exceptionally kid friendly.
I am excited to show our guests the many faces of the city in this well balanced itinerary which ensures that the activities are fun for both adults and kids alike.
Be prepared to do some walking. This city is best taken in on foot. It's also famous for traffic so when we need to get across the city we will be taking the metro!
All ages welcome but be aware that strollers can be tough to navigate the metro and some streets are cobbled. That said all of us with older children will be happy to help!

We will be staying in a hotel close to the Parque Espana in La Condesa. As with all my Retreats - breakfast is included at the hotel. It will be a smaller - boutique style hotel and everyone will have a private bathroom.
This area is great as there's a huge park with a playground for kids, a play area for balls etc and plenty of walking trails through the park. You'll be spoiled for choice on where to eat - from Street food to Sushi, Tacos to Thai curry... this area has it all!
We will not be including airport transportation purely because Uber is SOO efficient and there is no waiting time allowed at the airport so organizing someone to get you is very tricky. Uber picks up from right in front of arrivals and each door has a huge number so you can tell them which door you're at. The cost is about USD 10-15 to get into the City.
After a delicious breakfast we will head to Chapultepec Park where there are many options for things to do. Today is Easter Sunday so the City will be at it's most quiet and calm and many things will be closed... but the park is always open!
Depending on the ages of the children joining us we will either head to Papalotes (the Childrens Museum) or we will go to the Zoo. There is also the option to take out the peddle boats on the lake. Maybe we can do it all!
We will make sure all the children are dressed for the occasion (monkey hats!)
We will head to Teotihuacan pyramids on this full day tour. Our guide will tell us all about the history as we explore this incredible historical area. This is the largest and one of the most important sites for the Aztec Empire.
Lunch will be enjoyed in a cave restaurant after which we will be visiting the Basilica of Guadalupe.
Today we will head to Coyoacan (the home of Frida Kahlo) where we will experience a Street Food Tour curated by a local chef.
From Tacos, Barbacoa, Cheeses and sweet treats - we will enjoy walking the cobbled streets, enjoy the art and feast til we are full.
We will spend a little time in this area before heading back to Condesa.
I will endeavor to get us tickets for Frida Kahlo museum but they are notoriously hard to attain. I will be writing to them to secure a group booking however I am not adding it to our itinerary in case it's not possible. I will be doing my best!
Today is yours to enjoy as you choose. There is so much to do in the City but don't worry - We've got plenty of suggestions and a map link with lots of ideas. Go wild and explore or stay back and relax... the parks are on your doorstep so there's entertainment for the children a few steps away.
Ideas for your day:
Head to Polanco and visit the free museums and art galleries
Spend the afternoon at the Aquarium
Wander the streets of Roma Norte and pop into the many boutiques
Coffee Shop/Snack hop. I'll be providing you with a google maps link filled with the best places to try delicacies; pastries, tacos, street food and Michelin star restaurants all listed!
We will be collected from our hotel and taken to see the canals of Xochimilco.
Far from the party scene - you're in for a treat!
We start with coffee at a local market (hot chocolate for kids!) and then take a pedi cab to our boat.
Our Trajinera will take us to an ecological conservation farm where an activity has been planned for the children. We will explore the farm, picking some items which we will then have for lunch before heading back via the boat.
You'll have the option to explore the area a little more before we head back to our hotel.
We hope that you've made some incredible memories. It's time to say goodbye. The hotel provides breakfast and for any of you with later flights we can come up with something fun to do to tire out the kids before you head home... or maybe you would like to come back to Oaxaca and follow up with a Classic Retreat... it's up to you!
And ensuite bathroom
Every day
This will depend on availability given that it's Easter Sunday and also on age of kids!
The zoo is free but it's an activity we hope to fit in!
Teotihuacan including lunch, visit to ruins, church & cave.
Hosted by Chefs and suitable for children but not vegetarians/vegans.
A traditional boat ride through the canals as well as a visit to an eco farm. Lunch Included.
In historic Center.
We will be walking or taking the metro to some activities. The cost of public transportation is included.
We create a Private WhatsApp group for all participants so that you have support before, during and on the way home from your stay.
I will provide participants with maps links filled with restaurant recommendations. You will also be given help planning your free day (if you would like it!)
Uber is incredibly efficient. It's much more time effective for you to order one outside of the terminal than for us to arrange a pickup. Cost is also very reasonable (max $15 but usually closer to $10)
Dinner is not included however we are staying in an amazing area surrounded by an abundance of reasonably priced restaurants. There is also Uber Eats and Rappi for delivery to the hotel should you prefer this option. My family will always offer for you to join us wherever we go. Pizza and Sushi always happen with my kids!
Whilst some of our excursions do include lunch - other days do not. Fear not, we will always steer you towards great food. Tacos are abundant, delicious and cheap!
Price of trip does not include flights to CDMX
Cultural Retreats for Families, designed to create memories with your children whilst also having some much needed time to yourself.
