Our family of 4 (mom, dad, two kids) spent a week in July 2026 at Somos and it was everything we'd hoped it be! The neighborhood was lovely and quiet. I enjoyed some hilly runs in the mornings and we had a beautiful meal at at a Michelin star restaurant for an extremely reasonably price that was only 5 minutes away. The house was well equipped, clean, and comfortable both during the periods other families were there and then when we were the only family who was staying. The pool is such a treat for the kids and Tania has taken extra care to ensure it's very safe (locked gate, life jackets available) so I never needed to worry. We loved the flexibility Tania offered, which allowed us to make the amenities of chef and nannies work for our families goals for our first big international trip. Some days we declined the nannies and did family sightseeing, some days we did 1/2 day on our own then spent time with kids downtown, other days we enjoyed a luxurious full day of exploring on our own while the kids swam in the pool and did chocolate making and tortilla making workshops. We really felt like we got a vacation instead of parenting in a new place. Highly recommend reaching out to Tania and seeing what a trip for your own family can look like!

This truly was the trip of a lifetime! Tania knows what SMCs need on vacation. Childcare, and food! My daughter had a blast, and I was able to thoroughly enjoy myself with massages on the rooftop, and my daughter in the pool for hours a day w the nanny. What an experience for both of us. It’s so hard to find something my daughter and I both enjoy ourselves! If you’re contemplating it – just book it. I thought about it for a long time before booking it, and I’m so glad we went. Book it- you will be so glad you did!!

We had the best time! I brought my 1 and 3 year olds, who have never stayed with anyone other than myself or my mom, so I did not expect them to stay with the nannies very much, but to my surprise and delight, they took right to it. I was able to go out to several dinners, an AMAZING food tour (a real highlight of the trip) and some walking/shopping outings on my own. The food in Oaxaca, both at the Casa and out and about, is some of the best I've ever had. From Michelin star restaurants to amazing street food and local markets, whatever you want, you can get -- and I tried it all. My kids loved the food as well, and having Rosa there to cook all meals for the kids really made for a relaxing week for me. I was 7 months pregnant on the trip, so didn't do as much walking as I normally would on a trip, but still felt like I was able to have a lot of fun outings in the city - the central area is fairly compact and very easy to get around. Tania not only is a wonderful resource to help you plan whatever kind of trip you want (I did a lot of short outings and hammock naps on the roof deck, but bigger outings and even day trips are easily accessible) but also offers amazing conversation and is just a fascinating person. I really appreciated her suggestions for things to purchase from local artisans, it is always a big positive to be able eat and shop locally while traveling. Could not recommend this trip more, especially if you have small kids and are easing back into travel post babies. I used to travel solo often, but have found the logistics a little daunting with several young children, and the retreat really took the guesswork and hassle out of everything. March offered wonderful weather - warm and dry - and we all enjoyed being able to walk, visit parks and playgrounds, and swim comfortably. I would love to re-visit during another time of year!

We had an amazing trip to the Casa in Oaxaca. My little boy, 3 years old made great friends, he still talks about them now, also the nannies! Lolita and Fanny were amazing, they really understood how to get my little boy to feel comfortable and let him lead the activities with gentle and caring attention. I was so surprised and relieved that he warmed to them, meant I could go out for two grown up dinners! Tania has put together such a thoughtful retreat with great activities and is so helpful if you want to do something separate. The Casa is really comfortable, the food is amazing, Rosa the chef made the best pasta sauce for my fussy little one, as well as delicious Mexican food for me. All in all, we felt so looked after and cared for, the right balance of activities and relaxation. I would have no hesitation returning to Oaxaca, Mexico it is safe, welcoming so kid friendly and we travelled so easily from UK. Thank you Tania and the Somos family!
