October in Oaxaca is a magical time of year. 

We kick off the season with two weeks of Retreats that are inspired by the movie CoCo. 

We of course make sure to watch the film so it is fresh in our minds as we explore the inspirations behind the movie found all over the State of Oaxaca.

Crafts are all Muertos inspired - we make tapetes with dried beans, sugar skull shaped chocolates and muertos cookies. Children will make pinatas, flowered headdresses, bracelets and sugar skull masks (and of course have the option to have their face painted in the style too!)

A CoCo themed treasure hunt will take us to the Benito Juarez market - complete the hunt and every child will get a prize! 

Our excursion these weeks will take us to the Artisans Trail where you will see the cempasuchil fields, have chocolate with Frida and see how alebrijes are made. You may be lucky enough to spot the woman who is the real life inspiration behind the Grandmother in the movie! 

For the adults - the Street Food Tour will introduce you to food that is typical of the season. You will of course receive a welcoming massage and have plenty of time to explore the city with or without your little ones. Babysitters will be there for two evenings if you'd like to go into town to have a meal or listen to some live music (or both!)

We have installed stair gates for extra security as well as high walls with security locks around our kid-friendly pool where little ones can splash with ease. The pool is heated by solar panels so is a comfortable temperature year round.

During your stay you will savor fresh, delicious meals prepared by our local chef who uses only the finest ingredients from the region. You will be served traditional Oaxacan dishes as well as familiar comfort foods from home - ensuring that all the family will find something they love to eat.
