Welcome to our Dia de Muertos inspired Retreat in the heart of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Muertos is the most incredible time of the year here in Oaxaca and we are going to make sure that you get to experience it all!
The CaSa will be decorated for the season ensuring that your experience will begin from the moment you walk in the doors.
As you settle into your vacation you will be treated to a relaxing Zapotecan Massage while the Nannies get to know your children.
You will take a street food tour with Carlos where you will see Centro starting to take shape as people put up cempasuchil, altars and all manner of beautiful adornments.
You will learn about the altar and will help us put the finishing touches on it. If you would like us to hang a picture of your loved one/s on the SoMos Ofrenda, please bring it with you. We will be sure to bring it out every year and honor them.
Our excursion will take you to a field of Cempasuchil where you will have lots of opportunities to take pictures. We will go to the alebrijes town of San Martin Tilcajete where you will see how they are made and have the opportunity to browse the pop up market with all of the seasonal crafts.
You will be made up in beautiful face paint (if you want to be) - our photographer will come in to take pictures for you to have as keepsakes.
You'll see many Muertos Comparsas, visit a cemetery and anything else that we find closer to the time that sounds exciting and authentic!
You will have two nights to explore the culinary delights of Oaxaca while we take care of your children and feed them a dish that's not quite so fancy (but they will love)
Our in house chef will make sure you are well fed. Our meals are made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients which we buy from markets to support the local economy.
We require the children to be aged 5+ in order to enjoy this week as there is no time for napping and it can be a very busy time of year.
This is a week like no other and we are excited for you to join us!
